Multistrada V2

115 hp, 199 kg, valve checks every 45,000 km. The easiest Multistrada ever.

The Multistrada V2 is completely new. A new 890 cc V2 engine, a new aluminium monocoque frame, and 18 kg less than the generation before it. Ducati built it as the road-oriented crossover of the family: a 19-inch front wheel for light off-road capability, the complete Multistrada electronics package, and a seat that mounts at two heights. Two versions: Multistrada V2 with fully adjustable mechanical suspension, and Multistrada V2 S with Ducati Skyhook semi-active suspension, in Ducati Red or Storm Green. These are the six things worth knowing.

What's worth knowing
New 890 cc V2 engine with variable intake timing
115 hp at 10,750 rpm, 92 Nm at 8,250 rpm. Over 70% of peak torque from 3,000 rpm, 80% from 4,000 to 11,000 rpm. At 54.4 kg, the lightest twin-cylinder Ducati has ever built.
You don't chase revs to make it go. Roll on in any gear and it pulls, so fewer downshifts on the road. A heavier flywheel and a longer sixth gear were specified for this touring version: smoother in town, calmer at highway cruising speed.
Service intervals built for distance
Oil service every 15,000 km or 24 months. Valve clearance check every 45,000 km.
Coil-spring valves and variable intake timing space the workshop visits for a touring life. At 10,000 km a year, the first valve clearance check arrives after four and a half years. More riding, less workshop.
199 kg on a new aluminium monocoque frame
Wet weight without fuel: 199 kg (Multistrada V2), 202 kg (Multistrada V2 S). 18 kg less than the previous Multistrada V2, with the engine as a load-bearing element and a double-sided aluminium swingarm.
Weight is the number you feel at every stop, U-turn and tight corner. The neutral geometry reduces the effort at the handlebar when changing direction and keeps the bike planted at highway speed.
Ducati Skyhook Suspension with Minimum Preload (V2 S)
Semi-active 45 mm fork and rear shock, 170 mm of travel front and rear, four Suspension Modes (Dynamic, Comfort, Off-road, Low Grip) selectable independently of the Riding Mode. The Minimum Preload button lowers the seat by 8 mm at stops and low speed.
The suspension adjusts damping continuously to the road: firmer when you push, softer when the pavement breaks up, without touching a clicker. On the Multistrada V2, the 45 mm fork and rear shock are fully adjustable mechanical units with remote rear preload.
Five Riding Modes, full rider-aid suite on both versions
Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, Wet. Bosch Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control, Ducati Quick Shift 2.0 up/down and cruise control, all standard. Sport and Touring give the full 115 hp; Urban, Enduro and Wet limit it to 95 hp. In Enduro, rear-wheel ABS intervention is disabled for off-road use.
One selection sets throttle response, traction control, ABS and, on the S, the suspension together. Wet for the rainy commute, Touring for the long day, Enduro when the pavement ends.
Touring comfort, two-up and with luggage
Rider seat mountable at 830 or 850 mm, passenger room on par with the Multistrada V4. Hand-adjustable windshield with integrated side air deflectors. 19-litre fuel tank, 5-inch TFT display, USB-A socket on the cockpit.
The side-case mounts are shared with the Multistrada V4: the 60-litre side-case set or the 76-litre aluminium set fit straight on. Upwash ducts route fresh air to your legs in summer traffic.
Tailorable to any need
Standard seat: two positions, 830 or 850 mmAccessory high seat: 850-870 mmAccessory low seat: 810-830 mmLow seat + low suspension kit (V2 S only): from 790 mmMinimum Preload button (V2 S): -8 mm at stops
From 790 to 870 mm, plus the Minimum Preload button on the S, there's a Multistrada V2 setup for almost every inseam. Your dealer fits it before you ride.

The lightest Multistrada is best understood from the saddle. Book a test ride: twenty minutes of twisty road is where 199 kg stops being a figure and starts being a feeling.
